Pining, yearning, vulnerability, oh my! Carly’s fourth album presents a woman in love with love, a boy’s obsessed devotion to capturing the imagery and high flung emotional flip flopping of romance. It’s diary level confessional, she does not hold back and in response you lean into the music, swept away with her openness. This album is one for the hopeless romantics and over thinkers as captured in ‘Too Much’ where Carly articulates this in a liberating fashion. Rejoice love fanatics as this album is the representation you crave. The disco infused beats lead to a sonically cohesive album- and as Taylor Swift reminds us after her Grammy snub for RED, sonic cohesion is key. Unfortunately, this album was horrifically overlooked; I am prepared to lead the official ‘Justice for Dedicated’ Facebook fanpage. because it’s that good an album.
