Arthur’s Seat fire caught on camera as Bonfire Night sees a high number of incidents across Edinburgh

The famous Edinburgh landmark Arthur’s Seat saw emergency services being called to put out a huge fire last night, with footage of the incident emerging from an individual named Cholo Mam.

Although the fire was expected to last throughout the night, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service left in the early hours of the morning at 1:23 am. The incident was left in the hands in the park rangers.

The fire incident on Arthur’s seat was only one of many that occurred in Edinburgh last night, despite current Covid-19 restrictions. Reports emerged yesterday evening of youths playing with fireworks in
West Pilton Park.

Another incident saw fire services being dispatched to Saughton Mains Park as early as 7:15pm, where an “out-of-control” fire had been reported.

The fire services were forced to call for backup from the force upon arrival at the scene. An eye-witness described the scene as a “war-zone”.

No firefighter injuries have been reported.
