As 2015 comes to a close, Edinburgh University Women’s Football team ends the semester on a high.

The 1st team capped off the season with a 4-0 away win against Leeds Beckett in the BUCS trophy which sees them progress onto the next round where they will face Lancashire 1s. This win means that the first team will start the New Year looking to continue their unbeaten run in both the league and the cup. So far this season they have played eight league games, winning six and drawing two. With only two more league games to come next semester, one of which is against Stirling 1s who are currently top of the table by just two points, all really is still to play for and the league title is within reach.

EUWAFC 2s also end first semester in a comfortable position dropping only two points out of a possible twenty two over seven games. This sees the team 1st in the league, eleven points clear of second place St Andrews and have obtained an impressive 30 goal difference. The team are only two wins away from securing silverware from the league which they aim to achieve early next semester. The 2s hope to take their winning streak into the conference cup and join the first team as they both progress in the SSS cup.

For the first year in the club’s history three teams were entered into BUCS leagues. The 3s got off to great start taking all six points in their first two competitive league matches. After a few challenging fixtures they now sit mid table, however, as the team continues to form and training continues the team hope to take further points next semester and climb their way up the table.

All in all, EUWAFC have achieved significant success already this season, setting themselves up for title and cup triumph next semester.
