FICTIONAL FIX-UPS – Effie Trinket meets Bertie Wooster

This week Fiona Grew, head Fixer-Upper at Fictional Fix-Ups Dating Agency, introduced Panem’s Effie Trinket to Bertie Wooster. The latter happily introduced Effie to the delights of the King’s Road, treating her to a cocktail or three at Bluebird. Here’s what they had to say about one another…

Effie:

Simply wonderful company! It is such a relief, I just cannot tell you, to meet some like-minded people in this new city. I was coerced, you see, into emigrating from Panem – I was simply distraught for the entirety of the journey to be leaving the Capitol – and I joined the Agency with the hope of making some new acquaintances. Bertie was kind enough to take me on a little tour of the area and it was delightful to find he knew so many people. In fact, we’ve been invited to a party together already – what I’ll wear I have no idea, nobody here seems to have any sense of style! If I was asked to find one fault with Bertie’s company it would only be his indecisiveness, he spent forever looking at the menu, muttering to himself and wishing for ‘Jeeves’, whatever that might be, and I was simply gasping for a drink!

Bertie:

Jolly odd clothing choice if you ask me for my first impression. More to the point, I always feel a little uneasy without my man Jeeves to confer with about such matters. This all being said, I must say Effie is a jolly good sport and I much enjoyed our evening together. She’s only just stepped off the boat you know, newly arrived in London (which perhaps explains her frankly bizarre choice of attire!) and it is such a nice thing to meet new people. I rather enjoyed playing tour guide, showing off all my favorite spots and I did introduce her to a few chums we ran into on the King’s Road. Actually, they invited us both for drinks on Friday, so I suppose one could count our introduction as a success!
