Fighting Talk : BBC Radio 5

Do you like sports? Do you like fun? Do you like quizzes where the answers regularly come from the obscure depths of miscellaneous knowledge? If the answer to these questions was no, then what on earth do you do for fun? If the answer was yes, however, then BBC Radio 5’s Fighting Talk is the radio show for you. Hosted by either Josh Widdicombe or Georgie Ainslie, depending upon the week, Fighting Talk sees four contestants battle it out for the spoils (pride, basically). Normally made up of a mix of sports stars, comedians and journalists, points are allocated on a random basis, whenever the host thinks a guest has merited one – generally for something humorous or very sincere.
Questions are generally centred around recent or upcoming sporting incidents or events, and can range from the simple (“Who is the most hated British sport star?”), to the slightly more abstract (“What sporting event would you like to see made into a West End musical and what would its tagline be?”). Answers, too, follow a similar vein: the more random, the better.
