Edinburgh University Judo Club (EUJC) proved their strength by bringing home 12 individual medals and four team medals from the Scottish Student Sport Judo Individual and Team Championship hosted by the University of St Andrews. The individuals saw EUJC bring home four golds, four silvers, and four bronze medals. All three women’s teams placed, with a final result of one gold and two bronzes, and the men’s A team took home gold.

Edinburgh University Women’s Lacrosse Club (EUWLC) won their extremely competitive match against the University of Nottingham 1s with a score of 9-7. EUWLC 2s also had an incredible match at home against the University of Aberdeen 1s winning 23-2 in the end.

The Edinburgh University Badminton Club Women’s 1s endured a tough match against top of the league team, the University of Nottingham 1s, which unfortunately ended in a 6-2 win for Nottingham.

Edinburgh University Curling Club (EUCC) had a strong day in Perth, at the fourth Scottish Student Sport Curling League Day, with both teams coming away with victories. EUCC 1s soared through their first game with a comfortable score of 9-1 against the University of Stirling 1s, then followed it up with a win against the Stirling 2s. EUCC 2s had a tough first game, playing against a strong University of Strathclyde 2s with only three players, and ended the match with a score of 12-1 to Strathclyde 2s. EUCC 2s had a great comeback in their second game of the day against the Stirling 1s, regaining a fourth player and comfortably taking a 9-2 win.

Edinburgh University Women’s Association Football Club’s first game back after the Christmas break showcased the 2s in BUCS Trophy action against Leeds University 1s. The 2s played some great football, but unfortunately it was not enough to influence the score line. The game ended 4-0 to Leeds.

Edinburgh University Netball Club (EUNC) 3s beat Edinburgh Napier 1s, 50 – 27, at home whilst the EUNC 8s also played at home beating Abertay University 2s, 27-21. EUNC 5s won, 34-28, against the University of Dundee on away soil, the 6s beat the University of Aberdeen 4s, 32-21, and the 7s finished the away matches for the week with a 45-31 win over the University of St Andrews 5s. In addition, congratulations to the seven players from EUNC’s 1s and 2s whom travelled to Dublin with the Scottish Student Sport Netball Team to play the Republic of Ireland. They played fantastically, coming home with one win and one loss!

Edinburgh University Women’s Hockey Club (EUWHC) participated in an interclub derby involving the 6s and 7s which was full of passion, goals and feisty play. Last time the sides met it was a landslide victory for the 6s, therefore the final score of 2-2, felt like a victory! The EUWHC 2s won, 2-0, against University of Stirling 1s and the 3s lost a close match, 3-2, against the University of Glasgow 1s, due to a last-minute flick. The 5s bounced back from their disappointing loss earlier in the week, with a solid, 6-1, win against the University of Dundee 1s with all of the goals scored by first year students. The 4s maintain their place at the top of East District Premier with a 2-2 draw against Boroughmuir. EUWHC 9s lost a tough match 6-2 against Borders Reviers.
