Poem: gently (apostrophe to forever)

ByEnne Tatishcheva

Sep 27, 2023
image of pink blossom on a tree against a blue sky.

it rained today
a light mist
and each raindrop settled in my hair
making me wonder if they glittered
like diamonds

lately i have been thinking about
lilacs (spring)
hyacinths (rebirth)
lightning (may)
lately i have been thinking about
memory (remembering)
do you?

remember the tyutchev poem you read every time i visit(ed)
each time it rains, i tilt my head to the sky (upupup)
the raindrops land like gentle kisses on my cheeks
and in the midst of the mist of the rain,
every place feels like home (or an echo of it)

(it is no secret at all)
i hope it rains again soon
